| Before you read the little intro the RP I hope to start, I want you guys to know a couple of things. Wikipedia was abused during the writing of this for information on Seattle’s history, Kimond Base doesn't really exist, John Lime likes women, Marica Jones is fictional, the RP is undecided if it’s fantasy or if it’s just some screwed up dimension like ours, that I know nothing about how the government works, my grammar is sometimes weird, and that I like Microsoft.
I hope you enjoy the background and that you decide to join this RP!
Kimond Base- 2014
A Student’s Revised History of Kimond Base, WA
By Marica Jones
*Published on a random date in 2014*
IN THIS EXCLUSIVE ARTICLE, ONLY FROM SCHOLASTIC: The founding of Kimond Base, I.G.A, John Lime High School, and Lemon High School
In 1980, a group of Seattlians, fed up at both the seemingly sudden insert of Microsoft Headquarters into their community and the cost annoyance known as Boeing, decided to purchase their own town. The seemingly stupid idea was led by John Lime [1920-1994], a balding sixty year old man with too much time and money on his hands.
The plan to form a Microsoft and Boeing free town started like any other. Purchase land, build houses, get Nintendo to set up headquarters in the new town, possibly try to persuade Costco to fund them, have lots of fun making kids, then let the town grow.
Please note that Lime was suspected to be insane, and that he had money. Money makes everything happen.
More people were drawn the idea of making a new town, mostly because Lime had promised free samples at all Costcos. People like free food.
The idea snowballed from there, the random millionaires next door throwing their money at Lime. To add to the chaos, the Government of the USA decided that they wanted a hand in all of it.
After a large political battle, Lime and the Government came out with a compromise. Lime would make the town and would run it, providing that the Government could set up a secret organization based upon the recently introduced S.H.I.E.L.D from the wildly popular Strange Tales.
Critics from all over the world have agreed that Lime had gotten the better end of the deal because he had money.
Time passed and the town was formed- smack dab at the edge of the forest and coast, no less-, the organization was dubbed the I.G.A (Idiotic Government A$$holes) by many, and Costco fended off Kimond Base’s advances. The town had a population boom to 200, and unanimously decided that they required a school. A preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and a 9th grade school was built. Unfortunately, there was no high school for all who required one. Instead there was something called the workforce.
In 1992, Costco placed a ban upon all citizens of Kimond Base, preventing them from purchasing or entering all Costco stores. The declaration caused Kimond Base to see a great increase in depression. The free food samples were gone. Forever.
In 1994, a mysterious plague spread through Kimond Base. It was called ‘The Cloud’, due to the instant high it gave to all who were infected. It was found to only affect those working for and with I.G.A. The revelation severely disappointed many drug dealers who thought the disease could be used in their favor and the hippies who had journeyed to Kimond Base.
Government panic after government panic after government high led the civilians of Kimond Base to believe that I.G.A had unleashed ‘The Cloud’ themselves. The civilians pleaded to the government to get rid of the high I.G.A personal. Their call went unanswered as the Government scrambled to save their own butts from the political outfall.
On December 21, 1994, John Lime suddenly died of a heart attack as a group of high, busty, and rather prostitute-like female I.G.A’s walked into his house.
Inspired by both the tragedy of their leader’s death and the incompetence of both I.G.A and the government, the civilians toughened, banded together, brewed beer, and got rid of the government in a way that wasn't… exactly legal. It took four long years full of hangovers and jail, but it was worth it.
In 1998, after the last infected solider was forcefully shipped out of area, John Lime High School was finally built. The so-called 'intelligent' people who supplied the cash, planned, and constructed the building decided to place it smack dab on the coast. In 1999 alone, John Lime HS had been flooded five times. It was some sort of miracle that the school wasn’t knocked down by 2000, or that it was covered with mildew.
Most of the high school aged kids in Kimond Base were already in the workforce by the time their once-needed school had been constructed. Many of them were geniuses and employed by Hostess’s marketing department, or the dreaded Microsoft, or the forgiven Boeing, or the new nemesis on the corporate playing field of Kimond Base- Apple. Some were lucky enough to be employed at both Microsoft and Apple. Those folks suspiciously earned more than ten times as much as their peers.
As more time passed, more people in Kimond Base ignored their high school education, preferring money over a high school diploma. In 2009, the only person going to John Lime HS was the janitor. The only reason he was even there was because he had made the crumbling school his house.
In 2011, Kimond Base experienced a sudden population explosion. Many parents in Seattle were disgusted with the weed-oriented influences on their children, and had vowed to move to a quiet town. Many, many middle schoolers were dragged from their friends over to Kimond Base, and there were horror stories. Lots of horror stories about Pokémon, of all things, from the middle schoolers.
The council that ran Kimond Base at the time grudgingly agreed to hire builders to go to work on a new high school for the next generation. This time, they had the competence to build the school in the middle of the town, and build it right.
The new high school was constructed out of brick and had three floors. The outside was lined with rose bushes, with ivy strategically placed around the outer wall. The entire building was shaped like a hexagon, with each side assigned to a certain subject, with a stair case in the middle that wrapped around a glass tube, displaying the small courtyard throughout the entire building. The walls were a plain white, with no other indication of color, and the lockers, which lined the glass tube, were a silvery white. Combined with the white desks and white chairs, white offices and white blinds, white coffee machines and white pencils, white doors and white toilets, the entire place looked like some medical facility. A large track looped around the entire building, with soccer fields and football fields peeking out from large clearings in the nearby forest.
The first floor of the high school was devoted to the nurse’s office, music room, lavish teacher’s offices, lockers, and the gym that looked like obtuse ‘V’. The second and third floors were packed with lockers, classrooms, and the occasional line of pure white drinking fountains.
The construction on Lemon High School, named after the head architect’s favorite fruit, was completed in 2013. A large parade, featuring the violet destruction by blending of the newest Windows 8 Phone and IPhone, was held in celebration of Lemon HS. Unfortunately, a 747 crashed on its test flight path, taking down the supersized Blendtec blender that Kimond Base had ordered for the special event. A citizen’s blender was volunteered for the job instead, and did the job just fine. The destruction of the phones wasn’t quite as extravagant as many of the residents of Kimond Base had wished, but at least they were still able to witness a similar sight to what they had originally planned.
The alcohol sales in Seattle, Kirkland, Redmond, and Kimond Base skyrocketed for the rest of 2013.
